Looks good to me, when are you available to take on some larger contracts?

As I said much earlier on, many were truly hand painted because of the vast numbers involved!

Indeed, I'm going for an authentic, night before the raid, look :D

I'm actually pretty plased with it, not looking forward to doing the sides though.

Why do the sides hold such fear for you Helen?

Model Tips Helen - or granny sucking eggs - whichever comes first :D :D

I use micro masking tape on models as the large stuff you're using is intended for bigger jobs on cars n'stuff.

Fine masking - it sticks better and doesn't allow paint 'creep' under the edges ;)

Or - I use liquid masking - Liquid mask

With the central fuselage joins on plastic kits I always use Filler - apply with wooden cocktail sticks with a rolling action - gives a better finish and looks less like a kit when finished :p

Have you tried spraying large surfaces with a badger airbrush ?? Cheap one only £20 but you can spend loads more - better finish overall though.

Do you use liquid poly cement - I always brush it on - don't trust tubes - even the thin ones - too much too quickly :p :p Especially on canopies and blisters / windows ;)

Just some thoughts :D

All have been considered from time to time and i've come to the decision that I'm not all that bothered about joins and making everything perfect, the only people who'll see them are me and mum and who ever looks at the pics, I just like making them. I quite like that they're not perfect :D
If I used an airbrush, it really wold go everywhere =)) I'll stick to my old brushes ;) :D I quite like the finish on it as it is :D
And I gave up with masking tape full stop, because it was too much faffing around, in the time it took me to stick the tape to cover the grey I had measured out with a ruler and painted it :)).

Sides I'm not looking forward to because they're curved and my ruler doesn't fit =))

Thank Pam :D Yep, definitely not just for boys ;) :D Although tell that to the airfix book I bought X( highly offensive title =))

Nah.... she wants one of THESE.......

A GWS C47 :D ..... check out the paint job ;)

Image

* Wingspan - 47ins. (119cm)
* Wing area - 282 sq. ins.
* Flying weight - approx. 17 oz. (approx. 485g)
* Suits - 4 ch R/C, Naro servos, ICS-480 speed controller
* Power system - EDP300H X2 (included)
* Propeller - EP5030 (included)
* Length - 23 .3ins (59cm)

Few aircraft are as well known or were so widely used for so long as the C-47 or 'Gooney Bird' as it was affectionalely known. The aircraft was adapted from the DC-3 commercial airliner in 1936. The Gws version of the C-47 made from moulded coloured foam and has a complete set of decal and a full colour instruction manual.

Helen don't listen to these pedants, where's the pics proving they can do any better eh?
Besides i think your aeroplane looks just grand, at least it looks like a C-47 my kit was so
wharped and outta shape i used it as target practice, and don't worry about the stripes on the side
they'll look right when yuo're done.

You'll be eating Yorkie bars next =)) =)) =))
You don't have to be mad to be here but it does help
