At my Air cadet squadron we have our wing field day coming up in July and one of the events I have been chosen to participate in is the Model Diorama. The brief for this year is a 1/72 Chipmunk at one of its AEF bases. I was just wondering if anybody on IA had worked with or flown with the chipmunks when they were in service. Our prediction is that many squadrons in our Wing will do RAF Cranwell. So far the best idea I have at the moment is to do a diorama of one being dragged out of the Hangar.
So if anyone has any pictures or details of the Chipmunks when they were in service it would be a great help if they would send them to me. Photos of what the airfield was like or any stories of what would go on during the average day of preparing a Chipmunk for flight would be of great help to me and my squadron.
Cheers Mike.
