I'm hoping too, although I was meant to go to Coningsby Friday and never made it =))

I'll probably be on the track to the mound, make a quick exit if/when she lands ;) :))
Shame they put her round the back :(( :(( (or maybe I'll be proved wrong and they'll want to show her off \:D/ :D ).

I wish this cross wind would bugger off ~x( ~x(

Must have been a cross wind problem Mancester end as even though it was a slight cross wind at Coningsby (7 from the left apparently :)) ), I wouldn't have said it was enough to stop the Dak, Spitfire and Hurricane got off and landed ok.

It's now due back tomorrow ~x( ~x(

Never mind, had a great view of one of the blue Spitfires doing three practice displays \:D/ :ymapplause: , till an oil pressure problem meant he had to call it a day :(

And I have a ready painted C-47 model in a similar green with D-day stripes but no decals :-? I see a plan forming :))

I have them (same kit) I just don't know where I put them, the Dak is 90% finished, just need some black paint and to find the paper work =))
It's been sat in a box for 2 years waiting for me to be bothered to put the finishing touches to it =))

I'll need to take some pics of the real thing first though, you know for research purposes of course ;) =)) =))

Nice and clean, going to look mighty good at the sparse airshows this year! ;)

Stolen from FC, which in turn was stolen from the BBMF's brochure :))

During the Winter of 2010-2011 the BBMF`s Dak` underwent a major maintenance programme and now appears in a new colour scheme as C-47 (FZ692) of 233 Squadron, RAF, which was nicknamed "Kwicherbichen".

C-47 Mk III s/n FZ682 was built by Douglas Aircraft in 1943. Delivered to RAF February 1944. Served with 233 Sqd at RAF Blakehill Farm until September 1944. Painted olive drab and D-Day stripes added for the invasion, the stripes covering its original ST-UK code. Because of this its identification coded of "UK" was added to the nose. ""Kwicherbichen" was painted under the nose, port side, and ops symbols painted behind the cockpit. FZ692 survived the war and still flys with Environment Canada, registed C-GRSB".

Nice picture of the real FZ682 here https://cms.raf.mod.uk/bbmf/rafpublishe ... dakota.cfm

Interesting that the real FZ682 is still flying :D \:D/ :ymapplause:

Returned home safe and sound this afternoon \:D/ :ymapplause: :ymapplause:
Looks stunning, even in horrible weather.

Only one slight snag in that she had radio problems, she could hear Coningsby, but they couldn't hear her. The Chipmunk had to do some relaying of information.

Not the best pic, but I don't care :D
