Nicely put Colin!

TSR-2 simply got the first 3 right. ”

Wonder how long this has been in the pipeline - and as a lifelong sceptic I wonder why £458,000 so precisely - not 450 or 455 or even 558 .... but 458 - it just seems so odd :D ;) Still best regards to him/her whoever he/she is B-)

;)

Just perhaps because it equates to $700000! :-o

Dan4th?!?!? :) :)

NOPE! T'weren't ME!

this (evidently) In Dollars gift!!!!

Wonderful news wherever the money has come from, especially as it means all the engineers can now get on with what they should be doing, and stop worrying about having to sign on. :ymapplause:

If the promised lesson learning takes place, we can all hope that this will be the start of a secure future for both the engineers and the aircraft.

XM655 has four of them, all serviceable.

Excellent news, and a very well worded missive from Dr. P. He acknowledges some reasons for people not donating and promises change. Well, only time will tell. Very pleased for everyone, especially those who get their hands dirty. :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

:D :ymapplause: \:D/

Thank you, whoever and wherever you are...

Taff - get your spanners together (and the rest of the engineers ;) :D :)) ), get those mods done and give us some more Olympus music!

Let's not forget the fundraising push continues - still a chunk of revenue to secure according to the 2010 pie charts. However, at least we'll now get the engineering complete and well into the season, which will give us the opportunity to realise MT's projections.

I do believe that the previously mentioned 'Fat Lady' is not longer required to perform the song she was reportedly rehearsing.

Yes i am going to post this on TVOC too ;)

All we have to do now is persuade the trust and our leaders NOT TO LET THIS HAPPEN AGAIN

I think this should be a good point for people within the trust to stop and take a good hard look at what has happened and what should have happened and act accordingly.

They should all get round a desk and start asking themselves, `where did we go wrong this time, and what can we do to avoid it happening again

What fantastic news, I always knew something like this would happen again but not that fantastic donation size, so a heartfelt thank you from me as well to anon :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

It has only been tempered by the expected comments towards all those that have been 'n******e' and kept asking for the long promised changes that have now been trotted out again with almost a cut and paste of last years promises, though it would be nice to actually see it happen this year. :(

But as someone said on one of the forums lets forget the past , what has happened has happened :p (or something in that vein)and just party and look forward to seeing 558 fly \:D/ and the engineers working their butts off again \:D/ .

Sorry to put a damper on but..... I believe with this, they only have enough money to get her flying, I'd like to ask where's the rest of the £2.4million advertised operating costs for 2010, is coming from, some hard thinking & planning is now needed on how we are going to raise this capital sum??

I have to admit to being a tad facetious with part of my last paragraph, if all goes as previous years it will be celebration, and then jump down the usual rabbit holes and at the end of this year we will start again with last minute panics if things don’t change. I hope that the repeat promises from last year are actually acted on this year and starting/continue from now, not left to the end of the year again.

I've just had some ideas .....quick - everyone - all you activists - ask all your friends and neighbours again .... oh and here's an idea - we are in the 2 months free Council tax period - you could give that - look down the back of your sofas.................................ooppss sorry - went into a parallel universe there for a minute :D :p
