many thanks Wedgy.

Just looked at the website and is at 1981 hits, I'm off to a meeting in a minute so I wonder if it will reach 2000 by the time I get back?

Dan - was that as you were signing up for Yuku as that would be when you enter birthday details - this is the page:
http://www.yuku.com/signup/me

I just tried entering month 03 slash / day 11 slash / year 52 i.e. 03/11/52 and it worked fine so now I have a second account!

once you're past that stage you get an activation e-mail link to click onto (mine was through in minutes ) and then it's just a case of going on to one of the areas where you need to apply for posting permissions then I just open up the permissions for you.
Just noticed that it gave my age as 1957 though!

If you still have problems drop me an e-mail and I will transfer the account I just set up but you would have to take the name 'guppyman' as I don't think you can change the name!

Well, about the only thing I didn't try
was slashes in between. Used spaces,
no spaces, dashes, with zeros and
without. I'll do it again with slashes,
and a mini tutorial about how to do
it would be good, because all over the
internet there are different requirements....

Month first? How Un-British!

(but I did do it both ways....)

Dan - it is straightforward, just go onto this page and complete the 6 boxes

http://www.yuku.com/signup/me

then when the confirmation / acticvation e-mail comes through just click on it and it activates your account. Log in and try to write to one of the restricted areas (eg project team discussions ) and it will say you need permission, click to apply and I will then need to set up permissions for you which takes me about 5 minutes once I see your request ( but I wont be around from about 4.15 today as I'm going to the Arsenal - Liverpool match so it might be tomorrow ), then you're away.

10.02.10

Nice and sunny, if not a little cold, at Bruntingthorpe today, so, I finally got the props finished!

You'll have to forgive me for the photos, the sun was in the worst possible place to get a decent shot!

I've also delivered the gubbins for doing the radome, so, once the weather improves and, at least, three of us are there, we'll make a start on that.

The aluminium patches that Dickon cut, have been drilled ready for riveting.

Whilst trying to get a decent pic of the props, I accidentally took this...

I think it looks quite good :)

Cheers!

Haven't done the backs of em yet, took 6 cans of spray paint to do the fronts and at £7 a can, it's a job that can probably wait.

Going to try and get 4 tins of paint, in the livery colours, so we can get the nose section livery painted before CWJ. We're looking at about £50 for that though so we'll have to see

14.02.10

Really productive day today! First off, it looked like I would be there alone but Gregg and Dickon turned up so I was like "Right, there's three of us, lets get the radome off!"

So we set to it:

Image

It came off without too much persuasion and was in cracking condition inside, no radar, but it had been lovingly removed:

Image

So we covered the hole with plastic and moved the radome inside, ready for repair.

Also, we got the nacelles open!

Image

And again, we were surprised by the condition of the insides:

Image

We think it's the anti-icing gear and it's in perfect condition on both sides. Although the port side nacelle door will need a bit of work, it jams on something inside, but that's a job for another day.

We also did some housekeeping on the new steps. Gave the levers some WD-40 action and explored all of its features.

So, what was going to be a cleaning day, turned out to be one of the best we've had for a while!
