I am led to believe that they will not be doing anything as somewhere in the distant past an exclusivity was done with a national.

Try your locals mate. Every little helps (eeek a blue stripe Vulcan.....shudder)

Jigsaw,

My local press, Oh dear! Leicester Mercury.
Where did she vanish from Bruntingthorpe Leicester.

Even the local radio station, (now she is not based locally) doesn't want to know.

Already got it from Barry Masefield earlier this evening.
Sooty

XM655 has four of them, all serviceable.

Tried that with several areas where I have relatives, both north and south but the response is along the same lines each time.

'Sorry but as it is not a subject local to us we have to prioritise our commitments'.

I think many others are trying their best to raise the profile of the funding issue, but having similar problems.

Sadly you are spot on mate.

I tried more than once. They found it hard to work out if I meant a Star Trek character or a person with big hair.

Hi all.

I can't believe that all the national papers and tv havn't got hold of this as they all love to give us bad news.
If the money is not forthcoming what will happen to 558 ?.
Sold to the yanks maybe ?. :((
Used for BDR training at Lyneham ?. [-x
Your answers on a postcard please.

Vulcan To The Sky Trust - Mission Statement
# To preserve and protect AVRO Vulcan G-VLCN (XH558)

# To demonstrate and display the aircraft at public events and to conserve her as a heritage asset in perpetuity.

# To advance the education of the general public, and also specifically engineers and aviators, in the AVRO Vulcan, her provenance; historical and social context; design technologies; operational and maintenance processes and procedures; for the benefit of British heritage, historical and technical knowledge and conservation.

# To assist in the conservation to full working order of other heritage aircraft of the 20th century.

Just picked this off the main site front page ....

RE :- 'Inspiring the future' ..... where exactly in this Mission Statement is education of children or the younger generation mentioned??

Just thought it odd :|

Now there's a great idea to raise funding - sell 558 off in bits as paperweights at £10 a pop - that's raise all the money we need to keep her flying!

Will you please NOT keep raising this possibility?

Chance of Vulcan being stolen by the Slimey
Murkins is a 1,000,000 to one possibility.

I assure you that there is no one in my country
plotting to spirit her away across the Atlantic!
