It isn't a case of giving up, others, including myself take a more realistic prospective. I wonder if people; in this current financial restrictive climate, are bored of the Vulcan struggle?

Yes Sam, why do you bother reading this? Perhaps your internet time would be better suited to job hunting? Lol! :D

That was a light hearted joke and no offence should be taken.

Wow, ES..........

I don't think that's the sort of thing that
needs joking about, even with your little
disclaimer. It borders on disrespect and
hints at a certain lack of empathy.

I wish you'd get over your VTS issues, ES'. Your 'prospective' :p isn't one of realism, it's one of animosity. Others, like myself and Sam, are taking a realistic perspective. We know the economic situation, but we don't just concede defeat before all possibilities have been explored. We've bothered to get out there and meet people at events, and there is no lack of interest.

One thing I am very bored of is your constant sniping at all things VTST, and now at people like Sam. Your swipe at him was uncalled for.

It is clearly evident that there is a lack of interest, take a look at the current fundraising - MONEY TALKS. If the interest was there, then the Trust and Club wouldn't be begging and pleading yet again! Just open your eyes, it is a sign the public have lost confidence in the management!

Please allow my personal congratulations on doing something, I think however, I've did more than enough during the first 6 months of this year!

I have a very good friend whom is employed by the VTTS and if Sam has a sense of humour failure and takes offence at my light heartedness then that is unfortunate.

I think you have said just about enough, you are making this forum worse than VTTS. Personal attacks are not clever, and to put it down to humour failure is wayyyyyyy below par!! X(

Fundraising is affected by economics, not necessarily interest. Interest in 558 was greater than ever this year (open your eyes). But the vast majority of those people aren't actively choosing not to donate. They either don't know about the funding (same as last year until the press coverage), or are unable to give. Most people haven't lost faith with the management because they know nothing about how it's run. Admittedly, there are people, such as yourself, who choose to not donate because of management issues and/or personal grievances.

I prefer not to allow you personal congratulations. I'd probably not accept them either :D

And if that's your idea of a joke, then don't give up the day job. It wasn't funny, no matter how you intended it.

Okay, so the joke was distasteful.

Dee, it was like being told off by my mother. ;) It was never intended as a personal attack so please don't twist it as such. X(

Tim, the interest in 558 is really good news and yes, my eyes were fully open whilst watching her display. Despite those unable to give, doesn't it beg the question why others aren't actively choosing to donate? That question needs to be answered, then perhaps, funding may well increase. Do you not think that it was made pretty clear at Waddington on how the Trust is run? Sadly, that unfortunate error will stick in peoples mind.

Dear me,I take a couple of weeks out and look in now and again .What do I find still more of what reads like personal attacks on some people and if I'm not wrong one of the last is a current member of the ground crew who work bloody hard to keep 558 serviceable .OK I have not read the whole forum as I only come on for a few minutes at a time but this thread is getting like personal war zone from what I have read .
Give it up for gods sake, This forum was a peacefully friendly place for all before a certain member began what I Read as a personal vendetta sniping at the TRUST TVOC and several employees thereoff.I for one will join the queue of vocal supporters of the aircraft and the hard working guys who look after her.I will also when I can put money in the pot ,OK The management may be rotten to the core there are ways I believe of putting that right,But if thats what is needed go about it the right way if you know how I don't but am sure it is a bit more involved than winding up Forum members that don't belong to the Club forum or are employees of the project .As said before wearing a bit thin now .
This is not a dig at anyone in particular but as they say "If the cap fits".

It certainly isn’t the case, but if people on this forum want to interpret my posts as a swipe at the engineers then feel free. I have expressed my gripe with the Trust and one individual earlier in this post. I have no reason to mock Sam or any other engineers – I have worked with them all. Sam should know the RAF type of banter and my lighthearted, sarcastic response was aimed accordingly. If Sam does find the comment distasteful, then I am sure he is old and wise enough to respond.

Maybe you should listen more to your mum, after all we do know best ya know!! ;) I consider myself to have a wicked sence of humour, but really did feel you were having a pop at Sam etc. I just cant understand how January last year you and your dad put youselves through such a gruelling epic to raise awareness of 558. And now you almost seem to HATE everything about the project? And dont twist what i say young man or your tabs will be stinging!! ;)

I can, if you read back through Steves posts he has explained the origin of his ill feelings!
