Thats great, thanks for the answers! :D I thought it was fuel too, just wasn't sure if it was meant to do that! It really stank of fuel when it came by me, very smelly compared to the Sabre ;)

Cluny explained to me about the drogue chute, hopefully they sorted the problem out for the second run. Indeed it is a very short runway, hence only 3 seconds of afterburners on, I bet the pilots bum clenched when the chute didn't deploy :))

I really don't blame you for missing Waddington Helen, it was damned parky out! Luckily I brought my beanie hat and gloves, another enthusiast turned up in a t-shirt, he looked really cold =)) Was well worth it though Stiggy, just wished I had more central heating in me so I could have stayed for run 2!

Great pics and vid Thumps and thank you for the company , must do it again :)
It was indeed Hangar 11s Hurribomber , only noticed the pylons on my footage after you had gone ;)
The second run did happen about 15 mins after you left too and the wait was worth it B-)
No need to post any of pics up as they are the same , except this one ;)

Now im off to edit a vid together ;)

all the poor buggers you refer to were all up at foxtrot 1 with me very close indeed as most of the picts and films will confirm when posted also if it was/t for these poor buggers paying £30 there would be no lightning run i very thankfull for such dedicated enthusiasts who from there restoration fees provide the fuel and avpin start fuel for the event which enables for opportunists like you to get a film of the day

The silly thing is, you got MUCH closer and a MUCH better view of the run OUTSIDE of the airfield, the poor buggers that paid £30 where <cough> a lot further away than us ;)

The Hurricane really made my day though, that was fantastic! :D

if you had stood outside since oct 17th in the rain with just a cover on you would be sick but as you would have notice she recovered very quickly

No.1 wasn't working and the parachute didn't deploy. His Frightning does get sick quite often though which is a shame.

Whats P1, I have no idea? :ymblushing: I was outside the airfield so can't tell you much!

Something to ask you Andy, on the video, at around the 3:03 and 3:06 mark whats coming out of the bulge at the bottom of the aircraft?

Just stating the facts, myself and Cluny could get right behind XS458 for the run and we were about 20ft closer to her taking our videos than you were.

Such a shame that there were only a handful of people there Saturday when it was supposedly fully booked, still, so long as they had all paid their £30 up front then that helps towards the costs and I am sure that the 2 second seat rides totalling £1,300 can help towards the cost of a full tarp to keep all of her covered up ;)

Perhaps the heavy handed E-mail tactics that you were subjected to backfired! ;)
