My last B-52G (photo)

Postby Cloggy » Thu Oct 08, 2009 8:43 am

I wondered if you guys (and gals) might like this photo. I took it on departures day of Mildenhall Air Fete 1993 and it remains one of my favourite aviation shots. Bear in mind, just a matter of a second or two after this was taken, I had my ears blasted by the sound of 8 water-injected J-57's! Wow! Sadly however, it was the last time I saw a B-52G take-off; nice as the 'H's are, they don't have the raw oomph of the old 'G'.

Cor blimey :-o :D Love the black smoke \:D/ \:D/ :D

I saw my first B-52 last year (2008) when it arrived at Waddington, the trail hung in the blue skay for ages :)) :D

I waited for almost 2 hours for it to arrive as it was late ;) :))

And this (hope you don't mind)

Was pretty much my view of all the displays landing/taking off at RIAT :D

And somewhere on here is the fly past :)

Not as smoky as your pic though :D

I'd suggest the words 'government' and 'foresight' are completely alien to each other in this fine land.

That's got to be one of the longest howls on record!!

Can you imaging all the coughing and spluttering in 558's cockpit as the flew through the Buff's exhaust? :-o :D

Great clip Puj!
