Was this yasterday?
:-o I went there too, only we spent the afternoon at Lakenheath fen (looked really busy from there, they approach right over the reserve, we lost count of how many went in/out). Then went to the veiwing area about 5ish and saw the C-17 land :D
Do have pics but mine are rubbish, your's aren't :D :D :))

So you went to a wildlife reserve to see EAGLEs! :-o

The veiwing area is at the wrong end for yesterdays approaches, I went for a long walk at the other end! ;)

:D Thanks

That bug I'm not 100% about, it could be Picromerus bidens but the problem is there are hundreds of the blumming things :))

They're mostly of the shield bug family

Green ones could be Palomena prasina (Common Green Shield Bug) :) Lovely littly things, I just rescued one from our garden wheelie bin :(

Helen, I think it might be Coreus Marginatus but as you say they are all part of the Shield Bug Family!

Of course, as you are closer to the ground you will be more familiar with the low life down there!
