My pick of the statics, including the gorgeous F4 Phantom, ETPS's BAC 1-11 and the parked City of Lincoln.

Did the Guinot team display as a 5 ship... ? - Heard somewhere that they were flying 5 this season, as it's their final year of sponsorship.

Are the black specs birds or FOD on the lens ?

Thanks for those - even though a certain plane is missing ;)

Guinot were a credit-crunched pair!!

As for the black specks, they are sensor dust - in need of a trip to the cleaners as the sensor shake mechanism isn't clearing it! ~x( Mind you, it's a bit hard to tell given the muck on my screen! :))

Gully, get the mop and bucket out mate. Some really great shots marred by crap on the lens.
A photographer mate of mine breathes on the grubby lens to make it moist and the uses a cigarette paper to wipe it clean. He was taught to do this by another photographist. (Works too)..

Lens is definitely clean! Specks are in the same position irrespective of which lens is attached. It's sensor dust... :( Ran the self-clean 'shake' a couple of times tonight, which has moved the specks, but not removed them! :(

Nice photos Gully. My boy had sensor dust from RIAT in 2006, and it was cheaper to get a new camera (that's what he told me - hang on a minute :-w ). I suppose it depends on the value of the camera.

Don't use a rocket blower...if you do use it with extreme caution as you may scratch the sensor and blow the residue dust around the chamber! What camera are you using? Another solution is an Artcic Butterfly brush. I know several people who use these and they work very effectively.

Because it is owned by the British Army and is used on ranges to reproduce realistic threat signatures on the overflying jets!

makes sense, but 'enemy' vehicles are not normally given British military registrations!

there are plenty at Bovington, but none have ever had them! :p
