As SM pointed out they are a little dark, but are untouched and was taken facing south - it was a funny day big black clouds one second blue sky the next. Any suggests for reccommended settings appreicated bearing in mind it is a 'bridge' camera.

The other problem I have found is I don't like using the screen I prefer the view finder but lose sight of the a/c :))

must admit i usually frame up a picture so its about 2/3 ground and 1/3 sky and get meter readings of that then set camera manually to use those or set it to over/under expose accordingly if using auto exp

so i'd like a few tips too :D always good to learn and get better results

well I've just sent a snotagram to the BBC re their lack of coverage of the flypast - it rated about 30secs on BBC News of whch the first 15 secs was watching the back of the news presenter & then he got the aircraft type wrong AND it was interupted to go to a bloody news conference in Iran X( ~x(

ps heard the typhoons taking off from Coningsby - what a racket... \:D/

The flypast went directly overhead my boat on the Regents Canal this lunchtime. Hope her maj. enjoyed it, I certainly did.

Makes being away from 655 (almost) worth it.

it MUST'VE been shown on live TV at some point though - iPlayer only regurgitates programmes that've already been broadcast on BBC TV and Radio after all - there's nowt unique to iPlayer :p

perhaps the coverage was on the highlights programme, rather than the live one ???

isn't Trooping the Colour usually on Beeb 1 every year? i watched the full version on iPlayer, and it had no coverage of the flypast at all - only a brief mention that HMQ was off to watch it

the highlights definitely covered it though, so perhaps the BBC ran out of time in the schedule??? :p

well I got a reply from the BBC

I note you were disappointed with the lack of the RAF fly past.

As in previous years, BBC One's live coverage on Saturday 13 June was of the Army's Trooping of the Colour ceremony from Horse Guards Parade in central London. The RAF's flypast tribute to celebrate the Queen's birthday is later during the day thus not part of our live Trooping of the Colour coverage in the morning.

The flypast itself was extensively covered by us live on the BBC News channel from 1pm and also covered briefly during 'Tennis' coverage on BBC TWO.

So wonder what part of

"Out of 30 seconds coverage aired on the BBC News channels' 1o'clock news, 15 seconds of which we saw the presenters back, it was then cut short to go to the News conference from Iran" he doesn't understand then....... X(

If the coverage on the BBC News channel was extensive I dread to think what 'brief' means!!!!!!

that's complete bollocks!

I've watched Trooping the Colour LIVE on Beeb 1 for Y-E-A-R-S and they always used to show HMQ travelling back to the Palace and then watching the flypast - all part of the same programme! X(
