Great day at Brize on 2nd July '09, with Vulcan, VC10 and Tristar action! Thanks for the info, MR: based on my track record at Brize, it was definitely more active than usual, particularly good to see the VC10's in action for a good few hours.

As I arrived, two VC10's began circuit-bashing for a couple of hours: ZA147 and XV106...

Around 13.00, this Tristar departed - Falklands bound?

I missed most of the afternoon's action with the camera as I was sheltering from the sun and replacing key fluids in The Plough in Alvescot ;) , but did take a wander around the perimeter to 101 Sqn's pan to get a view of their beauties, shimmering in the heat. Image

ZD241 was looking especially stunning - fresh from a re-paint? Is this the only K4 still flying?

Cheers,

Gully

great snaps - glad you got more than an empty runway this time Gully! :ymapplause:

ZD241 is indeed the last ex-BOAC Super flying; 242 'retired' to Boscombe Down last summer for stress-testing :(

only four other Supers flying now - the K3s

Good God, Cluny!!!!

How old were you then, and what did
your Mother THINK you were doing????

I have to say, Paul, all of us look up to
you here on the forum.

Even when you're sitting down!

Broomp-CHINK!

No, but seriously, that is beautiful stuff....

And Mackrick, was there a VC-10 at BGR on
Friday night? I could have sworn I heard one
when I was going to bed last night.
