Engineering Nerds' Corner::::::

Postby Dan4th » Tue Jun 02, 2009 7:06 pm

For those of you with an interest and a little time
to spend, here's a paper submitted by Kelly Johnson
in 1941 PRIOR to US becoming officially "at war" with
Germany. I found it interesting and prophetic.

Not bad for a slimey Murkin, eh????????

It's great to look back in retrospect -- 68 YEARS!!!!!
And HE was only about 30 or so at the time. It's very
obvious in the first paragraphs that he held the British
Aircraft Industry in very high regard -- as well as the
Germans! No Japanese mentioned......

It's because the BIG WAR hadn't quite started for us that
he was able to say all of these things with little or no
censorship, I guess.....

Oh, and he and I share the same birthday, btw.....

I think my favo(u)rite brief quote from this
is as follows:

"Any means of transportation having a speed
of 400 m.p.h. is inevitably complicated."

Irony in the obvious...

There's no doubt about his genius.I'm glad it was in Layman's terms though.
