RAF Brize Norton Families Day rumour

Postby Cluny » Mon Jun 01, 2009 6:26 pm

First of all its next Saturday 13th June and there is a strong possibility that XH558 will fly in , land and then later on do a display .
Ofcourse this all relies on the servicing being completed , RR being happy with the Engine corrosion and if the ground runs and test flight [most likely the flight to Brize will be the test flight] being trouble free .
Also must make it clear that this is just a rumour heard at the pre season party , i feel an illness coming on lol :))

if the test flight isn't until the Saturday and assuming everything is servicable it puts pressure on Martin - he needs to do 3 practice displays before Cosford on the 14th & he hasn't flown her since last November.

I hear 558 needs an engine change. How quickly can they do that?

Hi Suz welcome to IA... :D

It's a long time since I had anything to do with families day but they used to be just that, a thank you for the families of that particular station. Mackrick is the ask - no doubt he will be around later...

Don't Benson normally have one of their own a little later in the summer?
