Modelers 'access all areas day'

Postby 320psi » Fri May 15, 2009 10:43 pm

Hi all,

We have an 'Access all Areas' day for the modelers out there next Saturday 23rd May.

A chance to get right in and get some details ;)

If all goes well we might just have enough in the pot to do the side cladding as well as the front stuff, we shall see ;)

We plan to have them both in the hangar, cockpits open, as many panels off as possible and maybe if time alllows 728's No2 engine hatch open as we need to do some finishing touches in there before any fast runs ;)

Cheers all :)

what a cracking idea 320! :ymapplause:

in my youth, i used to make endless models of tanks - fortunately Bovington Tank Museum wasn't far away, so i could take photos and use their extensive library - only once was i allowed the sort of access you're talking about though!

i can't think that there's anywhere else in the world where model-makers could get that sort of access to a Lightning - not even in a museum!

i hope you get lots of takers mate - that cladding is tantalisingly close innit! \:D/

Ta sm, it came to me in one of those 'light bulb' moments while sitting in a traffic jam ;)

Hope we see plenty of happy faces ;)

Damn - a modeller all my life and just trying to get the hang of ducted fan electrics with a Red Arrows Hawk so a look at a Lightning as a potential model would be perfect .........

But the daughter's wedding planning calls - again - and I will be stuck in Fleet that weekend ~x( X( ~x( X(

I'll get there one day :D
