Ahh. That explains why I can see no carriers out of the office window this morning. :-s

Mind you it's going to take a bit more than a strong crosswind to get them up over London. :p
That's it! You people have stood in my way long enough. I'm going to clown college!

The Royal Navy is to mark 100 years of aviation with a spectacular flypast over HMS Illustrious in London.

A formation of 40 aircraft, led by Merlin attack helicopters, will pass directly over the strike carrier.

Sea Kings, Lynx, Hawks and Jetstreams will be among the aircraft celebrating the centenary, over the Thames near the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich.

The Duke of York, who is commodore-in-chief, will meet veterans of World War II, the Falklands War and Afghanistan.

Prince Andrew will meet, amongst others, the Navy's most decorated pilot Captain Eric Brown and Fairey Swordfish pilot John Moffat, who crippled the German battleship Bismarck in World War II.

The prince, a former naval pilot who saw active service in the Falklands, will be guest of honour on board Illustrious at the planes pass overhead at midday.

The aircraft carrier will be moored in London for almost a week.
