It can't be that intricate surely. If they can be attatched to a RC model and send back images like that.... why has one not been added to 558 ?

That's a fair comment. It would be great to see inflight footage like this from 558.

I've been thinking that ever since I "suggested" a
clear canopy for 558 way back when!

Agree there Dan.. one in the bomb aimer blister would be nice, and one on top of tailfin foward facing, and one on pilots windscreen. (That would make would make for great viewing angles.. and a possible DVD to boost funds)

Then you remember my modest proposal!

I even got the esteemed FFM to quote weight
figures for the canopy and the procedure for
removal/replacement! In no way would I EVER
suggest a clear canopy for display purposes....
BUT a special CLEAR one using an existing
spare canopy as a basis could give some REALLY
spectacular video footage! And, Who Knows?
The Aircrew might even like it, too!

Of course, we have to remember that there are
far more important things going on than just
satisfying our Vulcan Lust! Good point on the
M-O-N-E-Y thing, though....

THey could even join forces with the excellent skills of Planes TV. I'm sure it would bring in some more shekels.As you say, it wouldn't be difficult with wireless cameras and the recording gear in 558's fuselage. It would probably add 10kg to take off weight.

I think the smoothness with which they are flown belies the fact they are models and not the real thing.

While watching those vids, I saw a link to the "Electric Vulcan" ... it just sounded plain wrong
