Avro Day RAF Waddington

[Leebee0]

Hi all

I had the honour of being invited along to Avro Day at RAF Waddington today. A truly one in a lifetime experience

I must say a big thank you to all at RAF Waddington for allowing us to take over the Airfield for a few hours. Al from the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum for all your help in access to FM213. Finally to Richard and Claire without you guys none of this would have been possible great company as well today

Ok so this is a big post but it is justified hope you enjoy these unique pictures

Day started early so that gave me some time to get a nice look at XH558

Then at the stroke of 10am XH558's sisters arrived

The flying side of things I filmed including the three ship formation and once edited I will post here in the video section so look out for that!

Thanks for the excellent ground formation & close up shots, I was there on the south west end & saw
them fly in & out. An experience I will never forget....

[Spitfire]

This has got to be - without doubt - the BEST Iconic Aircraft post I've seen on this forum

Stunning stunning pictures and a flavour that none of us could have seen in person but you have shared so well with us all

Thank you

[Leebee0]

[Dee]

Was honoured to be there as part of the Vulcan stall team. Stunning day and pics live up to that!!

[Jigsaw]

Have to agree with Spitfire. Without a doubt the best post.
Superb.
I was there also. I would not have missed it for the world.

[Mayfly]

Did you get to see tha formation Jiggy?

[Jigsaw]

Only in the distance from Waddington Pam.
Was worth it though

Edit: Not the best shot but I don't care

[Mayfly]

We got an excellent overhead at Metheringham airfield

If anyone wants to know why they close roads and move cars on...

for anyone who doesn't know the area that is a road!

[Jigsaw]

Oh my word

Very good post Lee. Thank you for taking the photos and sharing them with us.

Thank you for the link to the photograph on Facebook Pam. Now I know why the roads are closed, so I cannot get to see the 2 Lancaster Bombers at Coningsby together. Public transport is diverted.

[Mayfly]

I'm guessing the buses still go via Coningsby village don't they? just a different route into it. A bit of a walk but worth it.
