I don't know if this has already been posted, but I see that Biggin Hill is hosting a 'Festival of Flight' on Saturday 14th June this year:

Tickets all 'Sold Out'. Anyone know a good vantage point in the area to see the aerial displays?????

Mama Wedgy and I had a very good 'vantage point', on top of a hill, close to Biggin Hill Airport yesterday, joining lots of other people and families there. Cannot believe that it is 7 years since we were here for the very last actual 'Air Show'.

Although we were unable to see what was going on at ground level, we had a fantastic view of the Aerial Displays (probably better than from inside the Airport). Particularly our view of the Red Arrows. Being on top of the hill, they did several low passes directly over the top of us, in and out of their set pieces.

All in all, I think that this 'Festival of Flight' was extremely good. I just hope that, in view of the limit put on the total number of tickets available, that it was also a sufficiently 'financial' success for it to be repeated next year (and following years, hopefully).

Surely it was only 4 years since the last airshow Anyway I was in the show and it wasn't too bad really.bit of a pain to get in and more even more to get out since there was only one entrance/exit point for all the vehicles t,took about 2 hours to get out
Obviously a much smaller affair than before but it was good to have my local show back,once they have ironed out the wrinkles it could be a nice yearly event
Good points-not as crowded as it used to be
Good static positioning
Good toilets
Bad points
Bad traffic management
Not enough food/drink outlets ( didn't worry me ,brought my own )
Too many long gaps
Not enough jet noise ( my view )
I did take some piccies but the light was iffy so not worth posting but I may find a few worthies
