Queen's birthday flypast 15-6-2013

some pics of the Queen's birthday flypast today, taken from Witham in Essex, some of them were a bit further south than last year and finished a bit too overhead but it was too late to move by then

first to appear was the BoBMF Lancaster about 10 minutes ahead of the main formations

then they came one after another, one of the tornados was a bit loose on the formation








the c.17 has a Dominie either side but they were in a very loose formation and I didnt get one of them worth posting




Then the higjhlight for me, 2 of my favourite commercial aircraft albeit in military guise, Tristar and the wonderful VC.10 (I wonder if this will be the last time I see one fly?)










then the replacement for the VC.10, the Voyager with tornados and Typhoons in attendance, they were on a slighly more northerly track (morelike last year;'s) wish they had all been on that line!




the Red Arrows followed these a couple of minutes later but thye were even further north and I didnt get a worthwhile pic of them

Nice to see a formation. Would be good to see more like this at airshows.

thanks for comments, I hope the remaining VC.10s appear at a few shows before they gracefully retire. It will be a sad day when they stop flying

You indicated the C17 was accompanied by Dominies - I thought we'd retired all of those a couple of years ago? From the silhouettes the RAF put on their FB page I thought they might by Sentinels. Missed watching it and the BBC highlights only showed the Reds
