While on holiday in beautiful sunny Newquay Cornwall I could not resist a visit to the Classic Air Force Museum now based at Newquay Airport. The museum around 5 miles out of Newquay town centre is on the old RAF St.Mawgan site and now known as Newquay Airport but the old RAF signs still remain and the military still use this base in fact more than civilians use it but i will do a separate post on this subject.
While there i heard worrying news for the Airport and its future as it was announced that Flybe the only major airline to fly in and out of Newquay have pulled out. Their twice daily Gatwick service will stop in March 2014 leaving the airport with no airline using it and dire consciences for the airfield at this stage
Anyway here is a look around the museum in pictures and the current airframes at Newquay.
