It was easy ~ we just stood back and let the cadets do it. :))

XM655 wasn't off the ground for long. We had a delayed start because one jack demanded a little TLC, but once we got started, I guess the jacking up took about an hour, followed by another hour in the air whilst the hydraulic rig was run to re-pressure the liquid springs, then down again in about 40 minutes.

At least that is my best guess ~ Bovril took a stop motion video, so he may have some time stamps to correct my timings.

The whole exercise was more successful than we anticipated. We knew that the aircraft was down on the stbd side, and that was the spring we expected to recuperate. However, we didn't realise how much they were both down. With very little fuel currently on board and fully recharged liquid springs, we are now appealing for taller step ladders to reach the aircraft. ;)

There is one advantage........with the aircraft being higher at the main undercarriage it therefore follows that it is a bit lower at the crew door and so it's less of a problem for us to lift very old aircrew into the cockpit..... :ymdevil:

Yes we do. They have to live outside and haven't been used for about 8 years, so they required complete overhaul which we have carried out over the last few weeks. Apart from one glitch on Saturday, they performed brilliantly....

My apologies that I cannot attend the Wings and Wheels event this year :(( :((.
This is due to the lack of money as most of what I get is having to go on paying bills.
Hope the event goes very well and I will see what went on via photographs and videos.

i visited wellesbourne market today, halfway down the first row i heard the distinctive sound of four olympus whining, barging shoppers as i went i rushed to the end and there she was, 655 alive in the centre of the airfield :) :)

i stood and watched till she was shut down and the rain started :(

well done all for a nice egr, i only wish i could have collected £1 (to donate) from everyone i overheard saying 'whens it going to take off' and the few i heard saying it was 558 landed there and having work done =))

I arrived at Wellesbourne too late to grab the bus over to the middle runway on Saturday morning so had to be content with taking my pics from the perimeter. However I hope you enjoy taking a look... I didn't need my ear defenders this time.

Thank you, Clive, for yet another Great
(and entertaining) set of shots :ymapplause:

Hope the 558 aircrew don't stay in the

Oh, and I'd wager you do a really good

i don't think it should have been opened pilot finger trouble me thinks.Looks like the towing arm was left with the adjuster still pinned to the top half when the aircraft was towed back which don't do um a lot of good i know i've done it myself.Nice pics Clive.
