I wonder if they have tell tale wire over the bucket switch? ;)

The switch that deploys the buckets that Tornados use to slow down on the ground. It causes the most unsightly exhaust stain on the tail and hopefully the aircrew will try to remember not to use it! ;)

Ah I see.I always hate the exhaust stain on Tornados , especially on the light grey paint scheme !

I have video of Dan Snows sortie (landing back at Coningsby) and other assorted activity, I just haven't had a chance to edit it yet :))

They used the buckets on landing =))

I also visited the memorial

The Lanc I believe is doing fly past a Woodhall Helen on May 16th. They also have a dinner in the evening but we can't make it as we have booked 2 nights at Ladybower for the flypast on the 16th over the dam.

:ymapplause:
I think I may have to go for a walk in the woods at Woodhall on the 16th :D ;)
I tried being there for the Tornado flypast a couple of years ago and never saw a thing in the village :)) So I might try the old airfield instead.

Well we could because he could go to Woodhall and I could go to Derbyshire but this is payback time as 5 years ago when BBMF did the Dams run he was offered tickets and turned them down. :-o

Not sure of details Helen and I can't remember where I read it - one of the fora I think.

Towards the end of Helen's video you'll see buckets deployed on roll-out - so either someone on jankers will be cleaning the soot off daily, or that artwork is going to look like a steam engine pretty soon!

.....or they set to with wire-locking the switch, never mind about wussy tell-tales!
