Engineer Wanabee's

Postby Mackrick » Wed Mar 11, 2009 1:19 pm

Vulcan to the shy trust have just made a post in the engineering news looking for assistants to help the ground crew out. They are looking for short CV's from anyone interested.

maybe I should have said that in the Post Ian but it is clear in the engineering post. A great opportunity for anyone interested in giving up some of their free time.

I would be interested but only at RAF Waddington or RAF Coningsby, as I would not be able to go further a field, so I don't think that will help them. As an ex Vulcan Q'd airframe fitter :) , I should of been ok to do this with a bit of refresher training. I don't think my management would appreciate me disappearing to far away from work :( .

I suppose OR it will depend on return for their training - but living close to Lincoln is a bonus as you wouldn't require accommodation - send your CV in, nothing to lose.............

Don't forget though I have two bosses, one at work, and the real one at home :( , it is more her I am concerned about, again just because she worries I will get fingers burnt again and she has needs for my time (mainly as a cash dispenser :D , only joking :ymblushing: ).

Where were all these tousands of volunteers when the project first asked for help in the hanger 3 years ago when some 30 or of us have been working in the hanger and in the deep store in all weather's getting parts for the enginners all this time. Now there seems to be a bit of glory to be at airshows and and walk about some sort of uniform there are loads of people coming out of the woodwork now the hard work is done

Sorry, but I have to say the above is a little unneccessary! :-o

Being 3,000 plus miles away, I think I can say
this safely:::::

Medic one DOES have a point, there, and it isn't
on top of his head, either. One would hope that
a history of devotion to 558 would be a big factor
in deciding who gets the hono(u)r of volunteering
to help with her today -- and an hono(u)r it IS, too!!!!

D4th, I shall bring the MOONIE missile back in to use!

It would seem that those at the top of the Vulcan Pile have sought out help to cover more ground.

If they had enough volunteers, they would have probably stayed in house rather than going public.

Let's hope no-one holds back from volunteering because of doubt over their worthiness due to not volunteering earlier in line with MEDIC ONEs feelings in a previous post.

Once again we head back towards the " IT'S OUR AIRCRAFT" viewpoint and all the problems that caused in times gone by!

Well, of course you're right as well, Dave.....

Non-cranial point.

Medic one's feelings are understandable, though,
proprietary as they might be!

This IS the peoples' aircraft, after all!
