That's doesn't sound like a sonic boom! ~x(

Plus the wings aren't fully swept and the smoke trail would suggest that he wasn't using afterburner, so going supersonic is unlikely anyway!
Fly fast jets and/or C130s over my house please, I'm bored!

Olicat,

There would be no boom with a supersonic overflight at that height, it would be a crack as in a bullet passing by.

I think you are right about it not being supersonic. The damage caused by the supersonic shock wave combined with the jet efflux at combat reheat, at 30 feet or so, would probably be terminal for the car and passengers.

I reckon probably the video aircraft was doing 400 knots or so, ground attack speed, had that done to me by Tonkas on exercise, very stimulating, bloomin' noisy and a trifle painful on the body. :D

Whilst waiting for 558 to fly over Woodford the spectators were treated to some
amazeing model aircraft displays by a local club using part of the airfield. Firstly
some of the models were very BIG, and did my hearing deceive me or were some of
These aircraft powered by little jet engines........? They even had a Vulcan....!

sadly no lightning.....! This could be another new hobby for me...!
I bet it's expensive. \:D/

Possibly, Ray, but more likely to be electric fans.

One Olympus 301 has twice the power of a complete F1 starting grid.
XM655 has four of them, all serviceable.

Nick....! you no the answer to that, but the model Vulcan was bloody big,
I know this because it landed next to a parked van eg transit so I got it's
perspective.

I may just see when this model group get together again and visit them.
