Waddington 30th June 12

Postby Mayfly » Sat Jun 30, 2012 8:34 pm

Well what a good day I throughly enjoyed it....

The Koreans were brilliant - I guess it's down the a/c they use. One or 2 manoeuvres could do with a little tightening up but overall very entertaining.

The Reds were the Reds always on top of their game and the 7 ship doesn't detract [but don't tell MOD]

The Tornado role demo was superb.

The NZ 757 as usual was incredible how they can throw an airliners around like that I don't know.

The Saudis were quite good and made the best heart I ever seen.

And last but not least the Typhoon display was stupendous - exactly what what it should be - none of the gentle display of previous years.

10/10 participants well done all :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

I am ~x( ~x(. It is a pity that I live too far away, and have to rely on either public transport, or rely on the generosity of someone to take me. It was very hard to listen to what was going on, and realise that I wouldn't see any of it until the official DVD comes out.

yeah I'm sorry you couldn't make it Robert - I did look up the bus times for you but like the trains you get there late and have to leave early.

Pam. This was posted in my topic on the 'other side'.
There is a train from Spalding to Lincoln, but these are the times of the first & last trains.
Spalding 08:57 Lincoln 09:59
Lincoln 16:01 Spalding 16:59
Price is £13 return.
That would be NO good for the airshow.

Bus times.
Pinchbeck 07:43 Boston 08:25
Boston 09:00 Lincoln Bus Station 10:43
Lincoln Bus Station 16:00 Boston 17:43
Boston 17:45 Pinchbeck 18:20
Price unknown, but it is £13.10 return to Coningsby.
That would be NO good for the airshow.

This may have been my last chance of attending the airshow. Hope this answers your question.

Another good day yesterday but sad to say most of the displays were flat or rolling.

I was sat next to 2 Ozzies who had come over just to see the Typhoon display, at the end of the day they said they had never seen such exciting flying from all involved.

The Black Eagles were brilliant again and I only could see 1 manoeuvre they didn't complete, Good job they're not British I could easily follow them around from venue - venue. Those going to RIAT I hope you enjoy a much as I did.

In fact if we weren't heading North next Monday I would be twisting DTs arm to be going myself. :))

The Black Eagles were indeed BRILLIANT. Thoroughly enjoyed their display, it was superb :ymapplause:

Enjoyed it all to be fair in spite of the weather/cloud.

Well I went with my wife, eldest daughter, Son in Law and our grandson, got there about 10:00 dressed for the better weather day than Saturday and was lovely when we walked up the A15 to the crash gate, by the time we got to around to finding a spot on the airfield it was windy, cold and cloudy. Grandson decided he did not like ear defenders or the noise of the Typhoon so when the two came back from trying to get him to have a kip in the push chair we were all fed up so got home about 12:30, allthough this had nothing to do with grandson who was his usual lovely self despite not liking the noise.

What we saw was good and agree about the Typhoon but there was something about the whole feel of yesterday for me, so it is the first time I will admit I did not enjoy myself like I always have in the past, I still feel dissapointed today so maybe I am just to tired to bother at the moment and to be honest if 558 had of been there we still would not have stayed. :(
