RAF Waddington

Postby Minty4371 » Sun Apr 08, 2012 8:18 pm

Question.
I have been to the RAF Waddington airshows since 2009 on the Saturday, and I was wondering what the last aircraft display was per year, and what time did the airshows end. I think I may have missed some interesting displays due to me having to leave when the people who brought me wanted to go :(. I am led to believe that the Harrier displayed in 2010 but I missed it :((. I have checked my photos and the last ones I have of each year are:
2009 - Solo Typhoon
2010 - Typhoon (part of Spitfire/Typhoon pair)
2011 - OV10 Bronco

I don't think you missed anything in 2009 as I stayed right up to the Reds departing (Not part of the show) and last display I have is Typhoon.

And 2010 we went different days and I left early to find my mum =)) but I think the Typhoon closed the show again, at least it did on the Sunday.

(Harrier is about 6minutes in)

And last year mum and I were both really poorly so went home. I left before the Bronco :)) .

Thank you Helen :). I missed 2008 due to the driver being ill. Therefore missed XH558 & PA474 flying together. My first time of seeing XH558 fly was 2010. I was looking forward to seeing the Harrier, and take photos of it, as I know someone who saw the early version fly. Now there is no chance :(( :((.

Time to give Waddington a little publicity

http://www.waddingtonairshow.co.uk/display-aircraft

Things have come together early this year and some interesting participants, lets hope theres not many cancellations tho' I see [will please some] they have lost the Royal Jordanian Falcons.

Just had a look at the website for the display aircraft, and the only (provisional)thing that interests me at the moment is the flypast of the B52 on sunday............ :(

Its just a pity that some of the aircraft on static dont do displays, its years since I last saw the mighty Phantom do one........... :((

Heads up for those undecided -

The Air show director has said that tickets may NOT be available on the gate as they heading very quickly toward sell out.

The last day to get them on line is Friday 22nd after that it's the local[ish] outlets only.

EDIT: the date on the Waddington web site has changed to TODAY 20th June to get tickets on line

Thanks.

I hadn't got 'round to booking. Now no hotels for Saturday:(

A one day show this year then!
I'd rather be skiing

It's ok Pam thanks, can't get a family ticket on the gate anyway.
Just hoping Morrisons have some left like they did last year.

Afraid not. We would have to buy 2 adults (£28 each) and 2 kids. A family ticket is cheap by comparison at £52 ;)
Hopefully they will have some left.
