We had 4 Tonkas, Awacs and something else go past Sawbo the other eventing. Really pissed of a Ryanair bus. They made him abort a landing and go around. =))

Interesting today whilst I was at Boscombe Down. I saw three very low flying black and white Augusta type helo's in the distance. They were headed towards Middle Wallop. They appeared to circuit MW and then disappear. Two then reappeared about 20 minutes later and were very low to the extent that I lost them behind low hills. That was the last I saw of them.

think you'll find they may have been the Special Forces (8 flight) Dauphins. One popped in to Odiham last night before returning to Salisbury.

Articles like the one on the opening post make me smile. Typhoons only disturb those who live in the South then? :))

They obviously operate stealth like at their home base. :p

MOD have announced the Typhoons will arrive at 1100. Didnt say if that was zulu or not!

As for the press release, its a London thing. The nimby's and city dwellers dont know that there are fast military aircraft that make noise. I'm sure some of them have never been out of the city and believe that all aircraft look white with two or 4 engines under the wing and carry lots of people from the city to other cities.

I had a call from a friend last month when a Typhoon did a pass near their house, genuinely believing that London was under attack from terrorists in jet fighters!

I wonder what they make of the mass flypasts that occur fairly regularly over London in that case,oh and I suppose that the hundreds of thousands that used to attend the Biggin Hill airshow all came down from the north for the day ,really !

I know,so was my reply :p but there is an element of truth in what you say,the people who moan about the noise ( not me, bring it on ) will be the first to moan if any terrorism incident occurred ,can't stand nimbies !
