cynicism, politics etc aside, is it not just nice to see 558 fly and have the engineers in work?

Yes, but I don't like the feeling that the whole damned shooting match is being orchestrated! ~x(

When I was at East Kirkby on the Lanc shoot, I was speaking with a few people who had thought that `things were not as they seemed` being the polite way to phrase it....... :-o

And some of these people were thinking about joining the club/forum etc, but chose not too after much thought, and 2 people I spoke have recently left the club too.... :(

maybe we need to get Sculy and Mulder and ask them questions......... ;)

I'm not trying to protect any one but the income status is very fluid.
Monies can arrive in dribbles and small floods. It would be unwise to say that in week three of any month that the target has been met as this might remove impetus from the campaign.
As long as the targets are being met any 'surplus' helps take the strain off somewhere along the line. Or it starts to go into the next service pot.

Then why not report it as such, instead of the misleading way it is shown on the homepage, updated daily but never right, apparently. ~x(

This is beginning to sound like the proverbial revolving door if you ask me .It takes money to make money (or in this case a little bit of slight of hand( number manipulation)).To get people to pass on their surplus cash .Also the will she won't she fly this year argument,I'm sure she will ,simply put if the Vulcan wasn't going to fly at all because of lack of funds then I guess they would have to say early ,then duck as the flak comes in .(It sure won't be through lack of trying by Taff and the crew).

My personal attitude these days for the Vulcan is lets wait and see shall we.(does not mean I have not donated I still do(in amounts I can manage)).

i personally dont care about how it gets flying just as long as it is flying!!!! i have not liked the way the management of the vulcan has gone post restoration and i guess it could have been handled way better but by who??!!
i Have given money in the past but like many others i feel its been wasted however i still wish them all well in keeping her flying.

To be perfectly honest on the whole I see a great improvement these last couple of years on the funding side - It's almost as tho' the penny has finally dropped and recognition that if you give something back - hence the CLR instead of simply asking for money would be supporters are more on side. Coming up with fresh ideas can not be easy. Whilst I don't put myself out any more following her around I would be disappointed if she didn't appear at Waddington and I'm quiet happy for just that one [well two day] event.

Long may she fly.

I've been critical in the past about the way certain things have been done. Personally I think things have improved.
The bottom line though is I love to see 558 fly and I'll continue to give as much as I can to ensure that happens.

My Grandson loves to see her........558, like me, won't be around for ever but we can at least enjoy each others company whilst we still can.

Don't know what all the fuss is about, (who said that?).
The target will be met one way or another.
But remember where you read this.

The target will increase greatly in the near future due to fuel increases.
An increase which reading between the lines will hit everyone everywhere in this country of (was going to say ours) overseas owners.

So get out those Jerry cans and fill 'em' up.
So the government have endorsed.
