£300,000 needed before the end of March :-o.

quelle surprise

where the hell did that come from................. :-o :-o :-o

The last newsletter (31/1/12) said it was down to £99725 needed to finish the service, so where did the other £200k come from, and to get that in 2 months, they are really taking the p1$$ now............ X( X(

I am sorry to say this, but I really dont think 558 will be flying this year, so stick the reserve fuel in her and send her to her new home.................... ~x( ~x( ~x(

Nothing new for them always the last minute large amount .i guess it's panic the mob into digging deep just in case they have forgotten we(tvoc) need all their money to survive.Again it's the engineers who work their socks of that get my vote but soory guys I need my pitifull pension to get us by each week.Go see that RBS EX Sir he's got oodles of dosh and several multi million pound homes surely he can afford a couple of million from his back pocket. :D

It s been done before, many times, and it ll be done again. ! She will fly, because whoever has seen and heard her fly will give, whether or not they can actually afford it. There is a great comment on those lines on the 558 FB top page, and I d say a lot of people do feel that way. So lets dig deep again :) and keep her where she belongs :)

and if you think about it, they needed money for servicing, but didnt mention what was needed after that, until now. So thats your 300.000 accounted for.

I understand that it has been done before, but the country is in a different state now to those times..... :((

The answer is simple, what would you rather have, a roof over your head and food on your table or?????

at the moment that is the important thing for me..........

Just seen this in an article by the Yorkshire Post. (http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/at- ... _1_4212624)
Dr Pleming said that even if the £100,000 target was reached by February 29, the trust must raise an additional £200,000 by the end of April at the latest.
“This will allow the service to remain on-schedule and give us sufficient funding to reach the display season, when our commercial income will increase dramatically,” said Dr. Pleming.

So what is right, this statement or the one in the newsletter?

Funding deadline is end of March as clearly shown on the homepage, with a checkpoint of 'funding trend' taking place later this month.
I think we should believe the TRUST newsletter over the papers.
April has probably come from the plan to return to flight at the end of that month. I would imagine a comment was made that without the extra £200,000 that will not happen, so has just been reported/interpreted differently.

For anyone other than CC whos tickets fell into the fire!! ;) who has bought raffle tickets the date on them for first prize is wrong it should read Thursday 10th May NOT 20th May - it was right in the news letter but wrong on the tickets.

see...

http://www.vulcantothesky.org/news/302/82/Raffle---Correction.html

Sploosh I understand where you are coming from but you can always do your bit by getting extra raffle tickets and selling them should you so wish.

The £99K was to finish the winter service - they are in much better position this winter than other years as they don't have to pay for the MA guys, the other money is to see them through to the start of the display season I believe.

Some comment about the orchestration of an inebriation ceremony in an alcohol factory comes to mind, but I think it might just be de-ja vu all over again. ;)

In the latest newsletter says .......

As you know, we have lots of exciting plans for 2012 and need to ensure we have the aircraft ready for flight in mid-April to meet the first major event, the 30th anniversary of the Falklands Conflict, which will lead us into generating sufficient income to finance the rest of the season.

Has anyone actually seen and thing about any official flypast? I'm sure I haven't seen or heard anything.

I know the Trust have said if there was to be one and they are asked to take part then they want to do a flypast but I haven't seen any where that one has been mentioned or even the possibility that there could one but just wondered if I had missed it.

This may not be the right thread .Plus this seems to be at least a week old so not sure how many of you have either seen this or have and thoght HERE we go again .Seems they need £100 grand by the end of theis month or thats yer lot goodbye.~If true yet again it's the engineers I feel for they do not deserve this shoddy treatment evey year .

In view of the present political sabre rattling coming from the Argies and the UN being called in to mediate I would think that this present Govt will try and keep a very low profile and the 30th anniversary 'celebrations' will be completely unofficial and certainly very low key - if they happen at all.
