Due to a microsoft induced lack of access to the pc i've no pictures to add but one of the guys has updated the main website with more paint progress pics from the weekend.
work is continuing apace and we are in the middle of collecting the required items to refurb the brake packs as they are shot!

Should be up and running again next week and be able to post a few pics then

We were there yesterday and some of the team will be back on saturday, She really is starting to come on great, the biggest outstanding jobs left are all the standard airframe markings, no steps etc and the brakes which are stripped and awaiting rebuild once we have all the parts.

I'll get some upto date pics and post on sunday.

I.m going to put these here as stuffs happening on the main site so its not worth uploading them on there yet.

A little montage of some of whats been going on so you can see progress is being made.

Andy king has done Sterling work with the masking/painting of the squadron markings.

Some of the team posing with new members Colin and Harry.

general over view, though since i took this the wings are largely done,

Airbrake primered and starting to get its first coat.

More pictures to follow

And the latest update copied from our forum

Here's another update for you all,

Over december and early 2012 a lot has happenned,

Some of the ground equipment has recieved some TLC

The houchin has been stripped, serviced and painted and is awaiting fresh fuel filters before going back together,
The flushing of the fuel tank was my particular favourite with about an inch of crap in it.
The entire chassis has been cleaned red oxided and should last a long time now.

Now you may wonder why light aircraft grey ? well we ordered the wrong paint for 544 so decided to use it on the GS

The stads too are also being serviced and painted, this ones nearly done and has just had some reflective panels added, Just awaiting the safety and instruction signs and the hose trays putting back on.

then we start the other one.

One of the jobs we had to do was remove the nose leg to service a leaky retraction jack, which needed a custom set of seals making, unfortunatly we damaged the nose wheel steering box putting the leg back in and we've now go tto take the jack and hopefully not the leg back out to replace with this.
Image

As for 544 herself, well she's coming along nicely with mainly the stenciling to do,

We are only struglling with the long yellow walkway lines along the spine really, trying to decide on the best method to apply them as they also have a border of red dashes the entire length too

Any ideas ?
