Old Warden 2-10-11, Part 1- pic heavy

It’s October and finally I get to an airshow in 2010 when the weather is perfect – a long but worthwhile wait. I spent yesterday at the Shuttleworth Trust’s autumn show, first time I’ve been there for a while and realised what I’ve been missing. An excellent show and a very nice setting. If you don’t look behind yourself at the car park then you could be 50 years or more back in time, I took over 1000 photos! here are a few of my results, I’ve divided them into 2 posts as there are about 50 in all:

The beautiful looking Comet was on display near the front entrance alongside the Dragon Rapide:

The Anson displayed twice once in the morning and again during the afternoon with the Spartan, afraid I didn’t get a decent one of them together:

The Spartan looked as gorgeous as ever (if an aircraftcould be described as 'Sex on Wings' this would get my vote:

This Mustang opened the show in the afternoon:

The Swift and Chilton monoplanes displayed together initially then separately

There was a nice ‘Magic of Miles’ section to the display, with the Falcon Six, Gemini, Magister (one of the two participated in the Miles bit) and the immaculate Whitney Straight all displaying

The Trust’s Chipmunk , during the display it participated in a barnstorming demo involving ribbon catching – it landed with one successfully attached

The Trust’s Cub was busy, firstly glider towing (sorry no pic) anf then participating in the barnstorming

This Tiger Moth took part in the barnstorming piece and did a second flight (pictured) when a lucky raffle winner got to have a flight in it:

The Hawker Hind and Gladiator displayed together initially then did excellent single displays:

The Polikarpov Po.2 was a nice inclusion, hadn’t seen that fly before:

And the Provost did a nice turn as well:

The Feisler Storch demonstrated it’s amazing STOL capabilities
