Will be another cracking day out. I help out with the Lightning Preservation Group and will be in attendance for sure. It will be Lightning XS904 that will perform for the crowd on the day, dependant on serviceability of course.

The Lightning Q Shed is always bustling with folks looking round the aircraft and also the LPG shop which has a great selection of memorabilia, so for anyone that has not been to Bruntingthorpe before, it is probably the best day out you will have in a long time. Loads of other aircraft performing as detailed on the poster above.

Can you do something about the weather, please? I'm sure Brunty has its own microclimate. Are we going to see the elusive MF?

Another good day. Very busy for a normal CWJ day. Two of the Buccs played up, but were sorted and so did their thing later. Flying Jet Provosts, low display by BBMF Hurricane, Guppy seemed to be doing well (nice to see you Gaz), Tina showed her knickers, and of course, the Lightning was superb.

Nice to see you again, Paul.....even if you were skipping =))

Nice Photos, Lucas!

Is it my imagination, or is CWJ just
getting better and better all the time?

I move that we send a message of
appreciation to Mr. Walton from
Iconic Aircraft telling him just how
much we appreciate what he's doing!

Do I have a Second?

It is getting better, the crowds do seem to be increasing. The list of aircraft now doing runs is great.

Does anyone know what's going on with this Jetstream at Bruntingthorpe?
Image
I never really liked them, in fact I can recall watching the first one in RAF service that came to grief at Little Rissington in about '73, when due to engine vibrations a fuel cock vibrated closed shortly after take-off with the resulting crash demolishing a Cotswold dry stone wall and giving quite a fright to motorists passing the end of the threshold at the time - fortunately none of the crew was hurt (nor any civilians).
Back to XX494, I noticed a replacement undercarriage leg in a crate under the aircraft, otherwise she is missing both engines and most of her flying surfaces.....
Can someone enlighten us please?

Enjoyed it today. Couldn't make the May one, and I've not been to any shows this year, so the cobwebs were well and truly blown away! I think the extended crowd line was excellent. Even though the car park looked as full as ever, there was room to move, and it was quite easy to find somewhere right by the fence.

Enjoyed the pair of Buccs. I've never seen a fast run from one, never mind two together. I thought I saw something leaking from beneath '900 as they trundled back up the runway after the run though...

On the subject of Buccs, maybe it's just me not being observant, but I don't recall seeing XX889 (the desert pink one) before. No doubt it's been there years! I've certainly noticed three in the past, but not four!

The Guppy is coming on nicely - good work Gaz.

I think I may have spotted '558 in the far distance, a long, long way to the south west. I saw a tiny speck trailing black smoke... I'd heard she was doing a practice display at Cottesmore, so was keeping an eye out on the off chance she passed somewhere near by, or better still, gave us a flypast...but that wasn't to be as it turned out... :p

All in all, a good day, and as others have said, CWJ days seem to be going from strength to strength. Just a shame we've got to wait nine months until the next one!

889 is a former Kemble resident. It's a non-runner and it's been here for, about, 5 months.

900 has some hydraulic issues that are proving tricky to solve. All of us who work on her have had a shower in OM-15 some time in the last few weeks. It's not bad enough to stop her running, it's just annoying
