Hi all

The Royal Air Force Museum Cosford today took delivery of its latest acquisition, an RAF Hercules C130K Mk.3 transport aircraft. The aircraft made its final flight into RAF Cosford at 11.30am this morning after a farewell flypast over the Museum.

The RAF Museum Cosford is home to over 70 aircraft and the award winning National Cold War Exhibition. The Museum is open daily from 10am, admission is FREE. For more information on the Museum please call 01902 376200 or visit http://www.rafmuseum.org

Nicely caught, Lee ! Another one saved, but what a sad day nevertheless. Everything of note being scrapped or retired, and dont get me started on the "replacements" or lack of !
Cosford is getting to be THE place to visit, a very impressive collection indeed :)

Well i think you should be in luck just looking into this a little more she is set to spend a few weeks out on the airfield as she is `made safe` before moving into one of the many hangers at Cosford. Make sure you have your Camera :)

As for them needing more hangers well maybe as Cosford is due a Nimrod also before the end of the year now not sure how they are going to get it there but talking with Cosford yesterday it is not yet out of the question that she maybe flown in!!! That is not set in stone though but it may still happen!

Cheers

Lee

249 was flown into Kemble for dismantling, and then supposed to be going to Cosford by road.
In memory of a very dear friend - Mike Pearson

Very fond memories of Robbie Gilvary - DTs 1st Vulcan Captain who taught DT all he knew.
