BBD appears to be intact and straightens up after being knocked sideways by the Skyraider, but the dive just gets slowly steeper and steeper.

I'm guessing damage to the elevator controls.

The lack of fire is interesting, did the pilot have time to switch everything off?

Whats the escape procedure?

Just because i cant help myself a shot of BBD arriving at Duxford on Friday

The "Cut" out of the underside of the
tail is where all the controls to it run.

He very basically had no tail-end controls......

Lucky that the tail wasn't severed completely!

He appears [to me] to be very level headed and didn't panic, fair play to him he wasn't that high in the first place. I have seen it said he bailed at 400ft which is pretty low, he didn't appear to panic ...guess he did all the right things.

Gaz would you like to place a link to your pic in the BBD tribute thread in aviation photography?

Edit: The clip is back on utube.... the owner says nothing sinister he was only correcting the title.

Just found this on Yoo-Toob, and I don't
know if "IT" is on there as I haven't watched
it all yet.

Seems to be nice quality, though........

BTW This is the one I posted on page one of this topic which had since disappeared. Some more good stuff from David Taylor. Thanks for reposting Pam. :ymapplause:

EDIT re Danforth's posted video above I have a problem with this which may have something to do with my monitor.

Most of the props are either counter rotating or hardly seem to be moving. I watched the Stringbag flypast with a stationary propeller. :-o

Does anyone else have this problem? It ruined a quite good video (as did the lack of a good tripod).

good vid spoiled by the slow motion effect on the props strange as the aircraft seem to be traveling at a normal speed .Could it be frame rate ???

Deffo frame rate , compensating for shooting into the sun [had the same issue last october there] .

Anyway , the accident hasn't appeared to have put off Rob Davies [BBD's pilot] :)

I didn't have a problem with the stationary
props because I chose to ignore that factor.......

Kind of like ignoring the cracks and pops on
an old LP record played on a turntable.......

The rest of it was fine with me.......

I know things have moved on [parachute design] but bailing at 250ft boggles the mind a bit!

Far better than the other option!

Oh I know, they have restored from a Data plate before now - but it does remind me of SFs broom...
