Waddington Airshow flight path - viewing

Postby Lucky » Tue Jun 28, 2011 9:45 pm

HI

I wonder if anyone can help please. We are in the lincoln area when the waddington airshow is on and won't be able to attend as we are camping with a dog and can't leave the dog in the tent on his own. I wondered if anyone knows of a good viewing area in the fiskerton area that my little boy could watch see them flying over??
thanks

I know Fiskerton very well (went to school in Cherry Willingham) and there really isn't anywhere that gives a good view :(
I think my mum and I have tried most places :)) before we gave in and started buying tickets =))

The problem is the Hill (Lincoln edge), it obscures the air space around Waddington from the North.
Not so bad for the Reds, but kind of hard to see anything low flying.

Probably the best place would be the old RAF Fiskerton airfield (clearest view over to Waddington that I can think of).

You're better off heading through Bardney to the Nocton/Metheringham area.

Sorry I can't be of more help :)

The areas around Waddington are coned off for miles, even the country lanes and they do police them, and i know of no farmers fields that provide a viewing facility on a daily basis.

It does depend on what camp site you are staying at, some only open for the airshow.
In memory of a very dear friend - Mike Pearson
