I'm at a little bit of a loss for words
because the clouds, aircraft and shadows
are all just right.........

If I've counted correctly, there are at
least four layers in the perspective, and
once again, things just leap off the screen!

Terry, did you train for this or are you
just naturally talented?

Every time I look I see something new!

Now, YOU probably see all kinds of little
niggles you don't like, but EYE certainly
don't!

and do you have more than one on a go at a time?

Thank you for questions Dan and Mayfly, I'll try to answer them as best I can.
I've been painting aviation subjects ever since I was able to hold a paint brush. I've never had any formal training but my Dad was an artist and he taught me a great deal. I used to paint in water colour and acrylic until about 15 years ago when I started to dabble in oil paint.
I usually have more than one painting on the go at a time as it helps to have a break and come back with a fresh pair of eyes. At the moment I think I have about 4 I'm working on. The time spent on each painting does vary but generally I would say it is somewhere between 4 to 6 weeks. The total in hours without drying time is probably over 100? It's quite difficult to gauge, I' shall time the next painting

I see this Avro 504k every month on static display at Manchester's Air And Space Museum, I painted it to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Avro.

I love old biplanes, esp.those Sopwith designs. The Pup was described as the perfect flying machine. The other aircraft is an Halberstadt D'11.

I did the kids room once, every wall plus the ceiling with all the Winnie the Poo characters , tress, stars the lot. It took ages to do and I was really proud of it .Unfortunately, kids seem to lose their appreciation of art once they became teenagers and I was forced to paint over it all Never again! They have posters of odd looking lads on their wall now!

Yes four girls. I have a lad too, me an him have to stick together with five females in the house, it's not easy
I can't wait till he's old enough to come to the pub with me, I won't feel so guilty leaving him at their mercy when I go myself, poor chap.

Been tinkering around with one for a while, I think it's about finished unless anyone can see any changes etc. that I need to do. No title yet but it's Hans-Joachim Marseilles and co. Me109s in the desert
