Kemble Airshow 19 June 2011

Postby Hydealfred » Tue Jun 21, 2011 7:41 pm

This is what it must have been like at an airshow in the 1950's & 60's. All of these classic jets made for a fanstatic day. My airshow memories start in the 80's so to see a procession of Hunters on approach with gear and flaps down, followed up with displays by the Meteor, Venom, Gnat, JP, Sea Fury and Spitfire, well it was like being in a time warp. Good to see also the contribution from the RAF in these hard pressed times too, so all in all one to remember. It was also nice to see the ex RAF Dominies lined up on the field. I wonder what lies in store for them in the States.

A faulty undercarriage indication prompted a bit of close flying with the Gnat by the BBMF Spitfire
to check all was well

I wondered who would be the first to spot that (as said by Captain Mainwaring of Dads Army when he made a cock up :) )

Thanks Oli - now sorted.
