It's a pity Asterix failed as we would have had 4 flyable meatboxes present.

Thanks Oli,Dave and Paul. This was my first time at Kemble and my first true air-show visit since 1995 at Waddo.

I paid for the grandstand and it was well worth it. Great uninterrupted views at crowd-line midpoint.
It was next to UKARSE's enclosure and believe it or not there were some cretins at the very front stood on stepladders. [-x I did notice that a young woman went up to them from time to time but they took no notice.

To me this tells you a lot about some of their members, and UKAR's 'officials' - of course it may have been them on the ladders!!

Thanks Dan4th but I really need a bigger lens!! 200mm is not enough if you are crowd-side these days at airshows.

During this display the aircraft actually overflew two counties in their routines. ;) Seriously one half of the runway is in Gloucestershire and the other is in Wiltshire. Mind you you may find that the T-Birds at Waddo will overfly more than two counties during their display. =)) You will certainly need a very large lens or an even larger set of stepladders to catch these guys in action ;)

I treated myself [yes XP I treated myself :p] to Hurricane stand tickets at Waddo last year and I wouldn't go without now - it made such a difference!! The experience was so much better - no pushing - no 6' gits barging their way in front. The hurricane stand only has the seating the Spitfire grandstand has tables out front as well and some were standing on those. I told DT and he said he would mention it to the service personnel who look after the enclosure this year. i can't believe the rudeness of some people!!

And very nice photos by the way!! :ymapplause:

It's ok for you stout people but for little delicate flowers like myself it's not fuuny. On 558s first flight this 6'6" bloke pushed his way in front of me so I stood on tip toe tapped him on the shoulder and told him to shift it!! he went and got me a chair to stand on :)) :)) :))

Thanks Pam. ;)

I was also astonished by the number of people who must have got there at Sparrow's f**t and cable-tied their windbreaks to the crowd-line fence before disappearing, only to reappear, barging their way to their 'camps' through the patiently waiting crowd, just before the flying started. Some of them wouldn't even let the tiny tots through to the front X(

If I go to another air-show, on display day, I will certainly make sure that I get a ticket for a grandstand but only at a venue where you are not looking into the sun all day.

I went to one show last year (cant remember which) where they banned wind breaks etc - this was announced over the PA to a resounding cheer :)
