The forecast I saw this morning indicated it would be OK up until about 13.00hrs then wet.

A wet Cosford then - I feel sorry for them it appears it's flat displays and some no shows 558 amongst them - hardly surprising tho'.

Why not? you were in the country ;)

We had wall to wall rain. I don't think it stopped once.

"Displays"
Solo Hawk missed most of it as I was in a hangar. Might have been just flying up and down. I think there was also something before that.
SWIFT team - in hangar
Turbulents - in hangar
8 ship Reds (with 9 pilots) Flat display - after first half Red 10 said no second half they need 1000 ft, cloudbase was 800ft.
Red 1 said the would formate and do one pass with smoke, but that didn't happen.
Two Tornados role demo.
Brendan O'Brien Flying Circus - but he couldn't land on his trailer

But it wasn't all bad I did find Sunshine :D

I almost forgot

The Blades

but I listened to that on the radio on the M54.

I think the Tutor also did something that I didn't watch :)

But at least some of them managed to put on a display.

Yes I think some one was having a laugh with the text in the Wessex. =)) =))
Watched the functionals on a Jaguar.
Gear doors don't half shut with a bang. :-o :-o :-o
The demo was done as though it was going out on a sortie......
Air brakes IN
Flaps & Spoilers to TAKE OFF
Gear UP
(lots of pretend flying about and movement of control surfaces including explanation of all moving elevators).
Tanking procedure including extending fuel probe, Idling starboard engine and powering up port engine into reheat.
(They idle the starboard engine so that if the probe breaks off and is ingested then there is little change initially to the handling characteristics of the A/c while the engine blows up(my take on it not theirs)).
Air brakes extended to enter the circuit, Flaps & Slats extended for landing, Gear down.........
Very good demo and explanation. They even cycled the gear at half pressure so it cycled slowly so you could appreciate what was happening.

Best bit of the day IMHO.

Left after Reds.

Home in time for Canadian GP. WOW what an event that was......... Well done Jenson. :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

Anyone know why the display hawk either wasn't used or is not in colours yet? It's not a complicated design to spray up.

Could also be to minimise risk of a complete engine run-away if it ingests a fuel leak.
