Cant blame him really , theres plenty of room by the mound so there really is no need to park in the field .
Another case of the minority ruining it for the majority :(

There's no need for it, people are just too lazy to park on the square under the mound and walk to the corner.

I know I said on Sploosers thread about keeping the track clear, but there's still plenty of room to park.
I think the problem is that unless you are local, there are no keep off signs that I've seen, so people arn't to know that it's out of bounds.

Although I'd laugh if the landrover was the RAF security lot =)) they're often down there. They always say Hello to me and mum when we're there on a Sunday in the summer waiting for the BBMF to come back :))

You are correct Helen. ;)

you did say on my thread that I was not to park in such a way that would hinder the farmer and his tractor with the wide wheels. :D

This was my first, but not my last trip to the mound, there is plenty of room to park if you park sensibly :ymapplause:

,so why do people risk alienating us photographers, spotters etc with mr Casey.......... X(

I am sure these people would be the first to complain if that area was suddenly gated to stop access :ymdevil:

Just a quick update to the FC thread.

Basically it says that the reason behind not parking on the grass field is that it is an important area for conservation, there are some rare grasses and flowers growing there and obviously parking there risks crushing them.
So I totally understand why they don't want people parking there :ymapplause:

However I still say signs should be put up, not everyone who goes to Coningsby uses FC or indeed has the internet, and word of mouth only gets you so far, as there will always be one person who thinks they are above the rules.

Glad you enjoyed the mound Gordon :D
It's even better when the Dakota comes over your head at 150 feet :D \:D/ \:D/ =P~ =P~ :X =))

He did block the area off in December when it was snowy to stop people churning up the tack more than it is, so it's certainly possible if anyone else upsets him he could very well say enough is enough, which would be a massive shame as he has been really good to spotters/photographers.

Helen, are you offering to pay for the signage, or should the Farmer absorb that cost? :D

Mr Casey has agreed to signage going up and this is being sponsored by a FC member :ymapplause:
