I have just got fishing shot (2 sizes) and that seems as though it will do the job of fitting 30g extra in the nose of the Vulcan. I just hope that all the required weight will fit in the specified area. Will start again on the model. I was waiting until I got the 'lead shot'. If I were to fit white metal parts etc to make it correct for XH558, would I have to fit additional weight to the model? Thank you for any advice given.

You should be able to fit the weight in the radome, use Plasticine or blue-tack to keep it all in one place!

I've just raided the Tamworth Hobbycraft's sales bin!

Airfix 1:72 Harrier GR7 for £8 - down from £17
Airfix 1:72 Beaufighter for a fiver - down from £13

Back of a long queue but I'm looking forward to them both!

Whilst I was in forum jail, it gave me a chance to crack on with the Victor:

It is actually starting to come together now. Anti flash decals, varnish and glass to go. Then it will be mounted, "In flight" on a stand.

IT'S A HORRIBLE KIT!

Nothing fits together. You have to sand some of the seams down so much, you can almost see through the plastic. The wheels are all wrong (Hence my decision not to use them) and the sprues are so thick you have to cut them with a power saw!!

Save yourself a headache, buy a corgi one!!

Poor fit seems to be the current trend here , just started the Airfix Catalina .
It'll never float :))

Is that the airfix one?

I did it a while ago:

LOTS of filler, LOTS of sanding. You end up with no panel lines at all. Just a completely smooth Bucc :D

I wouldn't want to, annoying as it is i love airfix and their kits and i always have done. Besides it's an old kit and as times go by "tech" improves (Molds and other model making things)

Yep. Modern kits are USUALLY pretty good. The A380 I did was perfect.

You usually only trip up when you buy the older kits off ebay ;)

Oh CLUNIOUS one, nice to see you practicing the "married" excuses at such a young age.

Nice finds to add to your "TO DO" list!

Any idea what scheme you plan for the Lanc and the Toom?

The Lanc will be W4968 of 9 Sqn RAF Bardney [the scheme that PA474 carried in the mid till late 90's] ;)
Image

The F4 will be in the same scheme as the box top [VF-92] as I quite like that scheme :)
But I need to de-yellow the decals on the windowsill first .
If they dont , Hannants do loads of different decals for the J model [inc 74 Sqn RAF examples] ;)

The Toom will be as box top as well ;)

Finally the Blenheim will be a late war night fighter version , got the decals for 1 on the sheet I got to complete the Halifax , I just need to remember were I put that decal sheet :))
