^^ Go on, rub it in :((

I suppose this would be a good time to ask... anyone know any CHEAP B&B's near Waddington?

If my plan comes together I hope to get up there Friday and watch some arrivals, Saturday for Airshow and leave either Saturday night or Sunday morning, depending on B&B price.

Pam & Helen: How far is Woodhall Spa from Waddington and what would the traffic be like on that route on the Saturday? I might be able to stay with my godparents ya see!

About 18 miles Thumps - tbh I've never had a problem with getting into Waddington - but we were always there early, last year we stayed on camp to make it easier for DT & would expect to do the same this - fingers crossed :p

yes it was and more basic than a Travel lodge than before they had an upgrade!!! camping would have been a luxury - but at least the Mess was convenient :))

I stayed at Totterdown Hill Farm.

I think you will be very lucky to get a Band B for the show, normally booked up by now!

I had a pitch booked at Totterdown Farm for 2 days (FYI Pam, I booked my pitch there in September 2008 and they said they were almost fully booked) but I couldn't get the motorbike up the mudslide hill into the site and there was nowhere else I could leave it and every other campsite nearby was full.

Sold my pitch to someone outside and was about to head back to Oxford to find a B&B when someone told me about Townsend Farm... WORST EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE.... EVER!

Having to give statements to the police at 4am the day before RIAT was not ideal... putting it mildly.

There is a tar-macadam surfaced road to the top of the hill these days! Lovely place and Simon the owner is very helpful. The fact that his brother is a butcher and conducts the Barbeques is another bonus! The cost for a pitch is £48 for 2011, very reasonable for the four nights most people will stay! I will probably stay the extra night and watch the departures. Park and view is £15, so even coming for the day is worthwhile!
