I will still be looking forward to seeing the T-Birds at Waddo. There is nothing wrong with their aircraft , the F-16 is very photogenic especially in that scheme. What was 'pants' was their way over the top routine.

I was at RAF UH as a guest of the 77th TFS and these guys, most of whom had been in the UK for some time and had got used to how we did things, could not believe what they were seeing.

I only hope DT and the team warn them that people will be in serious need of aforementioned Tena pants all round if they haven't changed their pre-display routine. 6 week old camembert is not as cheesy as that.

F**kin Ada

Please have one sedan and a separate mini-van from the vehicle request for the Advance Pilot and Crew Chief
near the aircraft for their use. After securing the aircraft, they will grab food (their own expense) and then will complete essential details, to include:

"Dear Thunderbirds, we have issued various aviation forums with a copy of your Support Manual. Please expect booing and heckling when you arrive, practise, display and leave. You may also find that people treat you in a "diva" type of manner and that your AirForce Recruitment Stand shall remain unvisisted for the duration".

Some time later...

"Dear Thunderbirds. It is now day 36 since I started reading your Support Manual which has resolved my insomnia issues. After a lot of thought we have decided to cancel your appearance for 2011 but if we start planning now we should have completed everything on your Support Manual checklists by February 2046".

I have seen most of the display teams.

Thunderbirds
Blue Angels
Red Arrows

It is hard to compare the American teams to Europe teams becasue they have different airshow flight rules.

I have to say though i saw the Red Arrows back in 1982 and they were really impressive.

I agree each team has their own strengths and weaknesses, and the T Birds have found their own niche..

one thing I have learnt with DT working at Waddington - it doesn't matter who you secure for your airshow there will always some who want something different!

I prove that point myself with RIAT 2008. Pretty much the only reason I went was to see the Harrier pair. Yes I enjoyed the other aircraft too but the Harriers are/were so special to me that I was prepared to pay out £400 for a weekend away just to see them in action again!

Same can be said about other aircraft. I went to Shuttleworth JUST to see the Sabre. I went to Duxford JUST to see the Sabre and F-16.

All aircraft and teams have loyal fans which will support them no matter where they are.
