Bruntingthorpe 27/11/2010 - Pics & Video

Postby Stigish » Sun Nov 28, 2010 12:07 pm

It was nice to meet a few more of you.........Xpl, Gaz, RLN & Andy for the first time and not forgetting Olicat, even if I was a bit lost for words/freeeeeezing after the reheat run.

Here's my vid from yesterday, although the quality is rubbish as I had to convert it from .mov to .wmv to be able to edit in WMM. I'm working on the full glorious 16:9 HD version now :p

Pics to follow later.

I think it might still be processing :-??

Giving you a lift was no problem at all, made even easier by the fact I'd briefly met your Dad before. My Dad and I are already planning on going back in May for the CWJ day, providing it doesn't clash with my Daughters 6th Birthday (I don't think she'd appreciate being deaf for her birthday :p ).

Nice to put a few more faces to names for me as well. I'm just gonna stick my video here, save clogging the forum up with dozens of threads of the same thing ;)

PS: Forgive the darkness at the beginning, it's been converted from tape, to dvd, to wmv and movie maker was being a git and not letting me edit it :(

NB; Any negative comments I post about the Vulcan are posted SOLELY to wind Gregg up!

This sunset just seemed to cap of an almost perfect day (I say almost...........it had to end, that was the only down side :p )

When I've eventually got to grips with the whole eve/night shooting I'm sure I'll work out a way of taking shots with less noise. I can't be bothered with editing at the moment as I want to get the shots naturally right first. Any tips welcome.

I'm working on redoing the Vid from yesterday as it still won't play right & I've just found some good editing software on the Daughters laptop that works with .mov files \:D/ Updated version will follow...................eventually.

Nice shots Stigish.

Did you take them in RAW? With low light I find this gives much more versatility afterwards since you can tweak the settings of the images and at least reduce the amount of noise, if not completely remove it.

I often find it helps to play about with shutter settings, too, especially at night since sometimes it can be quite surprising how much (or little) light is visible on images when you're processing afterwards.

Not sure if that helps?
I'm English, and as such I crave disappointment

It certainly does. I changed from Jpeg to Raw & Jpeg when the light started fading, so all my "noisey" pics have a Raw version to play with I guess.
