Brrrrrrrunty 27.11.10 A pictorial review Part 1

Postby MOD » Sat Nov 27, 2010 9:21 pm

This event was obviously weather affected but there was a clear blue sky and a colourful sunset. Denis Brookes again at the stick. It was nice to see a lot of familiar faces and not so nice to see others - Gregg!! ;) ;)

I hope you all enjoy the VTTSC Christmas 'Do'

In no particular order :

I don't need to say what this is? I would just love to see her move one day. If I ever get reprieved from baby-sitting I may get to help Gaz, if he needs it.

The Pink Victor looked even pinker today in the sun. Tina really needs to wear more clothes on a day like today..

The crowd awaits. The ATC lads and lasses did a great job in the Arctic conditions. Respect ;)

XS904 is towed slowly into position on a very slippery surface. Those high pressure skinny tyres don't like these conditions.

It was a glorious sunset.

Followed by No 2 engine.

I am just thawing out. It was -3 with a windchill up to -8..

More to follow from this great afternoon.

BTW I was using a 6 point star filter on the 70-200mm Canon leans but I don't think I will use it again for these type of shots.

Take another look at the pics H.
Those of the lightning will have a 6 point star eminating from a source of light.

A grown up will explain it better though ;)

It produces a 6 pointed star from a single light source. ie nav lights look all twinkly and a bit more interesting. However I don't think the effect works on reheat runs. I tried to get directly behind 904 but the ice being blown off the peri track prevented me. An elongated light source, like a reheat flame, just doesn't work.

Ahhh OK, thanks Jiggy and MOD I get it now.

Ya know, I didn't even notice the star shapes from the light sources when I first looked at the photo's! I think it's nice but doesn't look so good on the re-heat, lovely "sparkly" touch on the running lights though :D
