I have some old/poor scans from the 80s. Mildenhall display 88, Fairford 88? and on TDY Lakenheath mid 80s?

Love the red knickers ;) :))

The only one I have seen (I think) is the one on the Intrepid in New York, and I have no pics because my camera ran out of batteries :(( :(( (bit of an ongoing joke with me it seems =)) =)) ).

Yeah I just remembered that one =)) =)) =)) =))

But the NY one was better as it's out side on the deck and you can actually see it =))
Unlike at Duxford where from one side it's too dark and the other it too bright from the big windows ~x(
Not that i'm complaining or anything =))

An excellent museum I must admit, I was lucky as I went in March 2006 just before they took the whole carrier/museum away to renavate it :))
It was shut for two years or something silly like that.
I didn't get to go around the concorde there either as you had to pay extra, and a very nice lady who was behind me in the queue gave me a free pass to get in :-o
How nice was that :ymapplause:
I love New Yorkers, some of the niceest people in the world (they give up their seats for you on the subway too, or at least 3 differest people did for me).
Just wish my camera had worked :( :((

"Ill" are you ;) :)) Hope it's nothing serious :D

yeah, sounds like a nice place.

its not a serious ilness like: Must-get-a-higher-rank-than-everyone-else-on-the-new-call-of-duty syndrome although i know people who have taken a day or two off because of it.

Nice pics Ian!! :ymapplause: Flat black is a very difficult colour on a moving object to photograph. Out of all the motorcycle racing pictures I have taken it's always the black bikes that come out soft!

Oh Dave you are NOT. :(

I visit UKAR and FC nightly just to catch up with the gossip/heads up. If someone asks for shots of a particular aircraft type, and I have some handy, I post them.. Simples. I am well aware that there are a lot of good photographers already on here and I don't want to over indulge myself just because I enjoy seeing my old slides on a large screen format as we have here. (I have never seen any of these slides outside of that orange Kodachrome box.) I have a wife and 2 daughters who can't stand aircraft or cars/bikes.... :((

Basically I have posted there because I was asked to - I don't feel so guilty then!! :) but I come here now for the ambience =)) and some good chat. :p My very first batch of scanned slides went to the VTTS Club forum, at Andy Bonsell's suggestion - I had sent him some of my Lightning shots from the 80s and that thread received over 10,500 hits before it just vanished overnight and the Club forum MkII was rolled out. I still posted occasionally there until MkIII appeared without warning and they reduced the size for photos down to 800x600pxs. As I had just spent 3 months (successfully) trying to get Fighter Control to increase its photo limit to 1024x800 pxs I was not about to start resizing all my scans just for VTTS Club..

For some reason, Pam or Wedgy may be able to explain this, my old, dirty, often blurred photos somehow look better on here than on most sites. I don't use Photoshop but I do crop and sharpen using the Canon Utlity that came with my 450D.

Dave I really do hesitate to post my old pics - anywhere, as up against the latest Pro Canons and their fast prime lenses, coupled with HDR and excessive Tone Mapping, I know my shots cannot hope to compete. That isn't false modesty either just look at the old slide photos from Mick Freer of Touchdown.NL ( a good mate of mine ) or Fred Martin ( who I went to school with ) and you will see what can be done with slides if you have a good camera and a good scanner..

Sorry mate I seem to have gone off on one ;)
