The Children in Need newsletter that MF's 'lost' (from 19th Nov) - includes a plug for Lincoln Market...

XH558 Supports BBC's 'Children In Need'

As well as offering seats with the Blades Aerobatic Team to fly alongside XH558 in a recent auction to benefit BBC's Children in Need, a small team from the Trust will be present today at East Midlands Airport, where the BBC team will be hosting regional coverage of the fundraising activities.
Martin Withers and Mike Pollitt from the Air Crew will be presenting a signed framed set of photographs and will be available to meet the public. If you are able to join in, please do visit the departure terminal and show your support. Keep an eye out for any Vulcan coverage if you are in the reception area or indeed, any glimpses of us as you watch the national broadcasts on BBC One this evening.

Visit Lincoln Victorian Christmas Market

For the third year in succession, members of the Vulcan to the Sky Supporters' Club will be hosting a merchandise and promotional stand at this hugely popular event. Running from Thursday evening 2nd December to Sunday 5th December, it really is a fantastic day out for the whole family!

Please feel free to find STAND 208 near to the live reindeer and children's play area. Just ask the safety marshalls for clear directions. Several members of the Air Crew will also be present to sign items that you purchase, so do look out for timings to be published on our web site nearer the time.

Changing your mobile phone this Christmas?

If so, did you know you can make a very valuable contribution to our funding by simply disposing of your old phone with our approved recyclers?

As most have been saying on here the information that is tendered is by virtue tendered too late.

The funds needed tend to be last minute.
As in 'We need this by then or else...'
Normally to the extent that it is within 30 days.

So without any surprised look upon my face why do I not understand that an email was sent out on the 19th informing people of something happening on the 19th.

As well as offering seats with the Blades Aerobatic Team to fly alongside XH558 in a recent auction to benefit BBC's Children in Need, a small team from the Trust will be present today at East Midlands Airport, where the BBC team will be hosting regional coverage of the fundraising activities.

You will note the distinct lack of information, (vital in my opinion), from the extract of the email sent out.
The time they will arrive there, the time they will be there until.

Also considering the email was sent out on the Friday, it is not surprising that people who would have liked to have attended, could not because it was too short notice to get time away from work.
Or more importantly, when they actually got to check their email inbox, it was too late to do anything at all other than...

Keep an eye out for any Vulcan coverage if you are in the reception area or indeed, any glimpses of us as you watch the national broadcasts on BBC One this evening.

Thanks Gully, question: as is it is obvious that some club members have not recieved this, how many others have not and I still believe that the Home page of the Web site is the place everyone is directed to and states that for all news of upcoming events read the ticker tape or the news part on the right hand side, also the Public Part of the forum would be an ideal place to have an events tab so all interested donators/supporters can see what's coming up not rely on club members to pass on e-mails/tell people.

I just thought this was common sense thinking if the trust want to engage the wider population for long term sustainability which we keep being told is the idea, but patently this is another area of all things Vulcan I have no idea about, so I will leave it at that.
