I have just rescanned these and posted them on the U2 thread on Fighter control, so I thought I might as well inflict them on you lot as well!!!

Inflict?

If that's the case, inflict away mate and keep 'em coming. I am (as you know) a glutton for punishment of this kind ;)

Love them :ymapplause:

You may need a new, or second scanner at this rate :D

As ever, thanks Kev. Comments like that make the effort worthwhile. It is a long process as well mate as some of these slides are well past their use-by date. First I clean them (physically, using a lens cloth and cotton buds) then scan them on my steam driven scanner. I can scan 20 a night ie 5 an hour. Then they are uploaded to Photobucket, which tonight required me to make 3 attempts before they were all accepted.

The really difficult part is to remember where the hell I was when I took them as my notes were being used by a family of mice which had made a huge nest in my loft. AAhhhhrrrrggh!!!)

Then of course there is the little added setback!! My desktop was covered in piles of slides - Jags here, Tonkas there, Lightnings, VC10 etc all in neat little, sorted piles ready for scanning. When Lily my 3 year old granddaughter decides she wants to watch CBeebies on my PC. Before I could react she had knocked the scanner across the desk and scattered the slides onto the floor. Cleaning and sorting part 2 then followed as Lily watched the excellent Justin Fletcher as Mr Tumble. With me muttering to myself under the desk.

And that Ian is one of the many reasons I appreciate you posting these.
Superb photography without a doubt. The time taken to do this for our enjoyment cannot be revered enough imo.

My (just turned) 4 year old loves Mr. Tumble and all the aliases. Justin Fletcher is a very talented man I agree.

I would buy her a laptop mate :))

And thanks again :ymapplause:

When I was in Cyprus they made a big thing about not taking pics of the U2 or even making it obvious that you were watching them - the thing was of you were sprawled on the beach at Buttons Bay they came in about 50 ft over your head :))

Nice pics Ian :ymapplause:

The pilot insisted. He's actually stood on a box!! ;) He really was quite tiny.

Actually that's how they came out of the scanner and I couldn't be a***d to do them again. X(
